Dominique Davie is an ambitious and focused Indiana native that is working toward and promoting a progressive democratic vision for the state of Indiana. He graduated from Indianapolis Metropolitan High School in 2008 and shortly after began attending Indiana University in Bloomington. In 2011 Dominique left IU to move to California for a few years while traveling and exploring the country. It was during this time that he would earn an associate’s degree from the University of Phoenix in Information Technology, which remains the cornerstone of his career pursuits and future ambitions. Dominique currently works for Amazon as a Controls Systems Technician in the Reliability, Maintenance and Engineering department.
His strong passion for technology, innovation and social justice led him to become politically involved in politics after returning to IUPUI to study Political Science in 2016. Participating in programs such as the Indianapolis Urban League’s Leadership Development Program and the Emerging Leaders Program helped him to gain the footing that he needed to launch his first campaign in 2023 for Indianapolis City-County Council District 24. Although unsuccessful, the lessons learned, and the connections made throughout the process were invaluable. However, to Dominique “It was just a steppingstone and there is more work to do.”; a sentiment that would lead to him adding his name to the 2024 ballot for Indiana State Representative for District 90.
“In searching for a way to create a better system for the young people in America to thrive, I have found myself engrossed by the weight of political action. I want to see Indiana become a state that is future focused. A state that is concerned about the quality of life being lived by all Hoosiers throughout the state. Every person born in Indiana and that moves to the state has the potential to contribute substantially if we provide them with the proper tools to develop and thrive academically and economically. We do not need any more political pundits. Real progressive action is needed to create change as we move forward and innovate American society. Indiana can lead the nation with a progressive vision, and I hope to contribute to that effort by becoming the Indiana State Representative for District 90. “
